On Saturday October 28th, the Annapolis campus held an inauguration ceremony for our new president!
Members of the Board of Visitors and Governors and Santa Fe/College Wide president Mark Roosevelt were on hand for the occasion. The event began with the formal inauguration, which included remarks by President Roosevelt, President Kanelos, Annapolis Dean Joseph McFarland, and admissions’ own Brittany Kemmer, speaking in her capacity of Staff Council President. President Kanelos was presented with the official presidential medallion, featuring the college seal on a chain made of linked books. Students also took part in the ceremony, singing Palestrina’s Sicut Cervus, which is the unofficial anthem of the college.
A reception and dinner in honer of President Kanelos followed. After dinner, students staff and faculty (including the President!) enjoyed swing dancing late into the night!
