Welcome to the St. John’s College Admissions Blog! At the Admissions Office, we work hard to spread the word about St. John’s College and engage with prospective students and guide them through the application process, and we have a lot of fun while doing it.

About St. John’s College

St. John’s College is a magical place where books come to life. Here, students have been studying the Great Books since 1937 by reading only primary sources. Through conversational seminars and critical analysis students engage directly with authors of some of the most influential works of Western Civilization in mathematics, history, literature, philosophy, the laboratory sciences, politics, economics, and music.

The college was founded in 1696 as King William’s School in Annapolis, Maryland and chartered as a college in 1784. With the addition of the college’s second campus in Santa Fe, NM in 1964, the college is home to 820 undergraduates who are wonderfully diverse, adventurous, and passionate about learning.
