Here’s a selection of what’s been happening on our campuses in the new year!
Exhibit highlights African-American communities. An exhibit at the Mitchell Gallery features the work of painter Ruth Starr Rose, whose subjects included descendants of Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. The exhibit will run through February 26th.
Two Grammy-Nominated Musicians Perform at St. John’s. Julian Lage and Fred Hersch performed the first Friday Night Concert of 2017 on January 13th.
January Freshman start class. This years members of the Freshman Fast Forward program in Santa Fe were welcomed into the St. John’s Community with a convocation address from President Mark Roosevelt.
Panel features Alumni in Math and Science. Several alumni returned to campus to talk to students about how their St. John’s education has helped them pursue work in in a variety of math and science fields.
Senior Essay Writing. January means Senior Essay writing period, as students on both campuses have been hard at work on the essays that will serve as capstones to their four years at St. John’s.
Former U.S. Attorney General lectures in Santa Fe. Michael Mukasey served as the 81st Attorney General of the United States, and on January 27th he spoke on the Santa Fe campus as part of the Friday Night Lecture series.
