On January 15th the St. John’s community welcomed 31 January Freshmen to the Class of 2020. These students have chosen to enroll in our mid-year accelerated track and will graduate in 3 1/2 years.
Who are these fabulous students?
- 14 states (AK, AZ, CA, CO, GA, ID, IL, LA, MD, NM, NY, TX, VT, and WA)
- 17% international (with students from China, Ethiopia, Georgia, Nepal, South Korea, and Zimbabwe)
- 26% domestic students of color
- 23% first generation to attend college
- 45% first time freshmen
- 6 women
- 25 men
- Average age: 20 (range of 18-29)
Numbers aside, these students also have shared interests in rock climbing, philosophy, hiking, film/video/theater, astronomy, community service, soccer, yoga, fitness, and political science.
