Thanksgiving at the President’s House

This Thanksgiving in Santa Fe, President Mark Roosevelt and his wife Dorothy invited all students still on campus, staff, and faculty to their house for Thanksgiving dinner.

The president inviting the community into his home for Thanksgiving is a tradition that goes back a long way here at St. John’s, and it’s one of my favorites.

While many students travel home for Thanksgiving, some students (particularly international students) will stay on campus. Many of those students gather in the president’s house each year to enjoy a good meal and great company.

The food was delicious, of course, but that’s really beside the point. What makes the event, and this community, so special is the people. And Thanksgiving at the president’s house is always an excellent reminder of just how special our community is.
