Summer Academy Week One

This week marks the first week of Summer Academy at St. John’s College! This year’s opening session is “Courage & the Soul” in Santa Fe, and it’s off to a great start.

We welcomed students and parents on Sunday with an opening dinner, where they had to meet our Summer Academy RAs, admissions staff, and some of the tutors who will be leading class this week.

Classes are well underway, with students this session dividing their time between seminar, lab, and language. They have also been enjoying activities like improv comedy (lead by admissions’ own Adrian Wallen!), pottery, archery, and percussion.

A trip to Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return was a big hit, as always! Students in this session will also head up to Abiquiu (Georgia O’Keefe’s home base), and have the chance to do some hiking with the St. John’s Outdoor Program.

Every year, we really enjoy welcoming students onto campus for Summer Academy, and this has been a great start to this years sessions!

There will be five week long sessions this year, and limited spots remain in some of them. Check out our website to find out more!
